Beijing E-Town to host Humanoid Robot Half Marathon in April

(ECNS) -- The 2027 Beijing E-Town Humanoid Robot Half Marathon will be held on April 18, 2027, with global recruitment for participating teams now underway, organizers announced at the closing ceremony of the 2026 World Robot Conference.
Billed as the world’s first humanoid robot half marathon, the event debuted in 2025 with 20 teams.
The 2026 edition expanded to more than 100 teams, including five international entries, competing in autonomous navigation and remote control categories.
China's “Flash” robot won in 50 minutes 26 seconds, surpassing the human half marathon world record, and the race earned a Guinness World Record for most autonomous humanoid robots in a half marathon.
Organizers said the 2027 race will adopt stricter standards, stronger incentives and broader international participation. Pre-registration is open, with teams invited to submit materials to jqr@shangyicheng.com.
Beijing E-Town is also developing Robofuture, a global robotics competition brand, using competitions and real-world application scenarios to accelerate the development and commercialization of embodied intelligence.
